This major health insurer with customers spanning all 50 states enlisted CyberSearch to install a new Pacer Budget/Cost System for use across their large network and to test their Peoplesoft application. The organization’s finance team needed the new system’s capabilities in order to manage their budgeting process of monitoring actual costs vs. their budgeted costs. The biggest expected challenge would be in taking the data from the old system and formatting it into the new system without any loss.
CyberSearch came prepared with a team of three experts, including one Team Leader to oversee the operation. A test strategy was created by going over design requirements and holding discussions with the development team and test design team. Functional test scripts were created and used with the new system to ensure business requirements were being met and enhanced. When a number of defects were discovered, our team used deep knowledge of SQL and Peoplesoft functional requirements to extract data and hold additional testing cycles.
The project’s initial phase ran from January 2014 through March 2016 and saw the successful completion of application designs, enhancements, and end-user tests. The client’s management budgetary process was streamlined, as finance leaders were able to use the new system to input actual costs and compare it to their planned budget. The second phase of the project entailed ETL testing of backend applications and was also completed successfully. Our ongoing relationship with this client continued with a third project phase began in May 2017.
